Cub Scouts are encouraged to participate and attend a variety of events which is one of many of the exciting things about scouting! Our scouts get to experience new things together and at home with their families! We follow the Scouting America guidelines for family packs which require Cub Scouts to meet the required advancements with their packs & dens or at their own pace at home!

What are some of the activities our scouts have done together?

  • Visit and tour through the Conemaugh Dam in Saltsburg, PA
  • Baseball game and camp out on the field at the Altoona Curve for Scout Night
  • Fishing! Ice fishing and the Annual Joey Gombosh Fishing Derby – our pack is responsible for setting up the event every year and the kids love participating
  • Participate and learn about the RC Model Airplanes with the Laurel Highlands RC Model Airplane Club
  • Teach entrepreneurial skills with our annual Popcorn & Nuts fundraiser
  • Pack visit to Gearhard’s Farm Corn Maze and bonfire
  • Camping! We enjoy multiple camp outs each year and camping at Camp Buck Run
  • Pinewood Derby! Our scouts and parents build cars and race them each year for awards!
  • and much more!

Cub Scout Pack 213 participates in a variety of local events throughout the year such as the Export Memorial Day Parade, local Veteran’s Day Memorial events, we collect & donate food to the Westmoreland County Food Bank, and regularly host drives to collect plastic bags for the Trex® NexTrex Recycling Challenge Bench Program which donates a Trex bench to a non-profit when 1,000lbs of plastic film has been collected and donated. Our last bench was donated to Franklin Regional Primary School. Our scouts develop a sense of pride and learn generosity serving our local Murrysville community!

Pack Meetings

Join us for our monthly pack meeting! We meet for Pack and Den meetings on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of each month at Emmanuel Reformed Church of the United Church of Christ on Hills Church Road in Export, PA. Meetings are 6:30-8:30pm. All Pack meetings require Class A uniforms unless otherwise noted.

All meetings require a parent to be present; this is a family pack

Camp Buck Run

Experience nature and accomplish advancements like archery, BB gun range, kayaking, swimming, and more!

Held each Summer in July at Camp Conestoga in Somerset, PA the cub scouts and parents have the opportunity to camp at an official Scouting America camp and enjoy a 90’s style overnight camp experience!

Pinewood Derby

Every January to kick off a new year, and to shake those Winter blues, our local Council and Pack participates in the Pinewood Derby! The children design, craft, and race their own derby creations in local races and those with top scoring cars move on to the council-wide derby competition. It’s a fun time for all and gives our scouts a sense of accomplishment and pride in their derby car and woodworking skills!
